2025-09-04 Some clear weather finally appeared while I was at my darker location and hoped to do a multi night image with my redcat 51 telescope. I managed to get everything set up, but then had an equipment malfunction due to a setup error early in the evening. I mangaed to secure a cable to the wrong point and it caused a cable to snap while slewing during the auto guider calibration. Fortunately non of the eqipment was damaged. The following night I was able to image after a slow start due to clouds, the next was tot cloudy during the optimal time, and the fourth night I was able to image for the full optimal time. In total just about 10 hours of exposure time. It resulted in this latest image of the North America Nebula. The image also contains the full Pelican Nebula a portion of which I have taken earlier at a higher resolution. What is interesting about this image is there is a dark nebula that covers a lot of the gas cloud that creats the outline of a large portion of the North American nebula, including the gulf of mexico shape, as well as a the outline of the left side of the Pelican Nebula. If you zoom in you can see this dark dust floating over the bright cloud.
